Wetlands are the lifeblood of our ecosystems. They provide sanctuary and sustenance to countless plants and animals. The Jhubei Lienhwa Temple Wetland in northern Taiwan covers 1.2 hectares and inhabits most native Taiwanese carnivorous plants, creating a unique ecological landscape.
However, the wetlands are increasingly threatened due to the anthropogenic activities and environmental changes, putting carnivorous plant species are at risk of extinction.
At RichWave, we supports the UN biodiversity initiative - SDG15 (Life on Land) - by protecting and restoring terrestrial ecosystems to reserve biodiversity. We are committed to maintaining a sustainable environment through the preservation and renewal of local biodiversity. We continue to collaborate the Society of Wilderness (SOW) on biodiversity initiatives that restore ecosystems and protect wildlife. In this regard, RichWave volunteer team serves in the “SOW wetlands restoration project” involving removing competing vegetation, pulling invasive weeds, clear trash and debris, and collecting falling leaves, detritus and seeds for nutrient boost, so that carnivorous plants can flourish and healthy growth heading into the growing season.
Every species matters, every action counts. Let's protect our planet's rich biodiversity and create a greener future for generations to come.
